Lunar Fortunes - diff for each year? how? - Guild Wars Forums

If I was to have bought a stack of Lunar Fortunes from the Celestial Rat year and open it up AFTER this year Cantha New Year(Tiger), would I still be getting a Celestial Rat or a Celestial Tiger?

If Rat, than how does one person differentiate the differences between the rat and tiger year if you were to buy OLDER lunar fortunes from previous years?

If Tiger, than couldn't someone lie and say these lunar fortunes are for the Celestial Rat so the seller can get more money from them?

usually what you should do is rake up stacks of lunar tokens and not exchange em for fortunes; rake a few stacks up and change them for fortunes exactly when next year's celestial pet will be arriving, and you can get a really decent shot at that minipet in the first 5 minutes of Canthan New Year, and sell it for much more than it's worth really.

speaking of tigers

i got a celestial tiger mini by using up one of those fortunes!!!!

me was so excited, me was, me was...fo weal.

i used a cantha character, my rit (not sure if that really makes a difference), but then i used an ascalon character for the same number of lunar fortunes.... but i did not get another mini

tis ok, yesh, yesh, tis ok

i want another mini so i'm going to farm as many tokens as possible

used over 180 and got nothing
and for anyone buying old lunar fortunes like rat or pig or ox think about how much each mini is even worth now.

keep in mind.....Year of the Pig Lunar fortunes do not drop Celestial Pigs.

You had to trade in 5 normal pigs for a Celestial Pig.

Also the only Celestial Pet worth much is the Pig because of this.........the rest are semi common ones.

Real players use the fortunes for the +1 attributes from Lunar Blessing. Just buy the minipet for cheap and save your fortunes.

What character you use has literally zero effect in altering your chances on receiving a mini.
